  • 360g rolled oats (60g per jar)
  • 900ml almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 6 tbsp chia seeds (1 tbsp per jar)
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup (or agave nectar)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 6 tbsp unsweetened applesauce (1 tbsp per jar)

For the Apple Topping:

  • 3 medium apples, diced (½ apple per jar)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg

For the Crunchy Toppings (Add Before Serving):

  • 6 tbsp chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 6 tbsp granola

For Layering in the Mason Jars:

Bottom Layer (Oat Base):

  • Divide the oat mixture evenly between the jars.

Second Layer (Apple Topping):

  • Add ½ a diced apple per jar.

Top Layer (Crunchy Toppings - Add Before Serving):

  • Chopped walnuts or pecans and granola for extra crunch.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Oat Base:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, almond milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and applesauce.
    • Stir well and let sit for 5 minutes to allow the chia seeds to absorb some liquid.
  2. Cook the Apple Topping:

    • In a pan over medium heat, cook diced apples with maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly softened.
    • Let cool before adding to jars.
  3. Assemble the Mason Jars:

Storage & Serving:
